Lay Eucharistic Visitor

In the name of this congregation we send you forth bearing these holy gifts, that those to whom you go may share with us in the Communion of Christ's body and blood. We, who are many, are one body, because we all share one bread, one cup.
- The Prayer for Sending Forth Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Visitors bring communion to those who are not able to participate in the Sunday Eucharist due to age, illness, infirmity or inability to attend services for a period of time. They are an expression of our mission to live as Christ’s heart and hands in the world.

To quote Bishop Love of the Diocese of Albany, NY, “To bring the sacrament of his precious Body and Blood to our brothers and sisters at the altar rail or at home is a profound spiritual privilege beyond measure. We are entrusted to carry the Gifts of God to the People of God with the Love of God.”

In addition to the reception of communion recipients are also kept up to date on what’s happening at the church through the friendly visit of our Lay Eucharistic Visitors.
